Come in the main doors of the school, there will be athletes there to direct you towards the lecture hall.
• Registration & breakfast will be at 8:30am, presentations start at 9:00am
• This clinic is free to all paid members of the Coaches Assoc. You can use your 12‐13
membership or sign up for 13‐14 when you arrive. Assoc dues are $25 per coach per
school year, cash or check accepted.
• Coffee & donuts will be available at registration, pizza will served following the last
presentation

Rene Paragas is the head girls XC coach at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, CA. Under
Coach Paragas, the Saugus girls have won the past 7 California State Championships and have
set course records at every major course in California. Saugus teams hold 6 of the top 10
team times ever ran on the Mt SAC course.
Jim O'Brien is the head boys XC coach at Arcadia High School in Arcadia, CA. Under the
direction of Coach O'Brien, the Arcadia boys were the 2010 and 2012 Nike Cross Country
National Champions as well as the 2010 and 2012 California State Champions. The 2010 and
2011 Arcadia teams hold the top 2 team times every ran on the Mt SAC course.
Kyle Sawyer is retired from the Mesa (AZ) School District. While coaching in Mesa, he
accumulated 8 state championships in men's XC, winning at Mesa Mountain View (2004),
Mesa Dobson (1997) and Mesa Westwood (1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996). Coach
Sawyer is a member of the City of Mesa Sports Hall of Fame.
